Triển lãm này do Hiệp hội nạn nhân chất độc da cam Việt Nam, Sở Văn hóa, Thể thao và Du lịch thành phố Đà Nẵng và Cục Vũ khí Hóa học Việt Nam đồng tổ chức. Nó được đồng tổ chức bởi Trung tâm hành động quốc gia về phòng chống tác nhân hóa học và hậu quả môi trường, Hội nạn nhân chất độc da cam Đà Nẵng, Bộ Chính trị Quân khu 5 và Bộ Chính trị Hải quân.

Triển lãm có 5 chuyên đề lớn là: “Thảm họa chất độc da cam”, “Quản lý hậu quả chất độc hóa học sau chiến tranh ở Việt Nam”, “Hiệp hội nạn nhân chất độc da cam Việt Nam và con đường đi đến công lý cho nạn nhân”, “Mô hình nạn nhân chất độc da cam kiên cường trước nghịch cảnh” và “Hành động chăm sóc nạn nhân chất độc da cam”.

Các hình ảnh, tài liệu, hiện vật trưng bày thể hiện một cách hệ thống về tác động sâu rộng của thảm họa chất độc da cam ở Việt Nam và những nỗ lực của Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam, Chính phủ, quân đội, Hội nạn nhân chất độc da cam các cấp, chính quyền địa phương, doanh nghiệp, tổ chức xã hội và nhân dân các tầng lớp trong công tác quản lý hậu quả chất độc hóa học, cứu trợ nạn nhân và chăm sóc xã hội sau chiến tranh, đồng thời tri ân các tập thể, cá nhân đã dày công làm việc trong thời gian dài.

Ngoài ra, triển lãm còn giới thiệu kết quả kiểm soát ô nhiễm chất độc hóa học theo từng giai đoạn do Quân khu 5, thành phố Đà Nẵng và các đơn vị liên quan thực hiện, đồng thời trưng bày “Đề án nâng cao chất lượng cuộc sống của người khuyết tật vùng bị ảnh hưởng nặng nề bởi chất độc màu da cam” do Trung tâm hành động kiểm soát hậu quả môi trường và chất độc hóa học quốc gia thực hiện.

Trung tướng Nguyễn Hữu Tình, Chủ tịch Hội Nạn nhân chất độc da cam Việt Nam, cho biết, triển lãm này là một phần quan trọng trong chuỗi các hoạt động kỷ niệm 65 năm thảm họa chất độc da cam ở Việt Nam (10/8/1961-10/8/2026), Ngày nạn nhân chất độc da cam Việt Nam (10/8), 79 năm Ngày Lực lượng vũ trang Việt Nam (10/7) 27 tháng 7 năm 1947-27 tháng 7 năm 2026).

Đà Nẵng là một trong những khu vực ở Việt Nam chịu ảnh hưởng nặng nề và lâu dài nhất từ chất độc hóa học sau chiến tranh. Hiện, trên địa bàn thành phố có hơn 37.700 người được hưởng chính sách ưu đãi người có công với cách mạng, trong đó có khoảng 4.790 người bị nhiễm chất độc hóa học; khoảng 17.350 người khác bị ảnh hưởng bởi chất độc hóa học, trong đó có gần 3.900 người được hưởng chính sách liên quan đến người khuyết tật. Việc phục hồi, hỗ trợ, đảm bảo sinh kế và hòa nhập xã hội của các nạn nhân vẫn đòi hỏi sự quan tâm và hỗ trợ liên tục từ mọi thành phần trong xã hội.

Bà Nguyễn Thị Anh Sĩ, Phó Chủ tịch UBND TP Đà Nẵng, cho rằng triển lãm có ý nghĩa nhân văn quan trọng. Nó không chỉ giúp phát huy truyền thống cách mạng, tinh thần yêu nước, kế thừa truyền thống tốt đẹp “uống nước nhớ nguồn” và “đương sự giúp đỡ nhau” mà còn nâng cao hơn nữa sự hiểu biết của công chúng và cộng đồng quốc tế về lịch sử thảm họa chất độc da cam ở Việt Nam và những ảnh hưởng lâu dài của nó.

Bà cho biết, ngoài việc thực hiện đầy đủ các chính sách liên quan của Đảng và nhà nước, trong những năm gần đây, thành phố Đà Nẵng đã tích cực điều phối các nguồn lực xã hội để cung cấp dịch vụ phục hồi y tế, hỗ trợ việc làm, đảm bảo sinh hoạt và các hỗ trợ khác cho nạn nhân chất độc da cam nhằm giúp họ hòa nhập xã hội tốt hơn. Trong thời gian tới, Đà Nẵng sẽ tiếp tục tăng cường công tác tuyên truyền, vận động, kêu gọi các tổ chức, cá nhân trong và ngoài nước cùng chung tay xoa dịu nỗi đau chất độc da cam và ủng hộ các nỗ lực đấu tranh đòi công lý, lẽ phải cho các nạn nhân.

Tại lễ khai mạc, Ban chấp hành Trung ương Hội nạn nhân chất độc da cam Việt Nam và các cơ quan, doanh nghiệp, tổ chức trong và ngoài nước có liên quan đã hỗ trợ như xây dựng “Nhà tạ ơn”, hỗ trợ sinh hoạt, hỗ trợ sản xuất cho nạn nhân chất độc da cam và gia đình họ tại Thành phố Đà Nẵng, với tổng trị giá hơn 1,42 tỷ đồng.
